Business Travel Direct is part of Ickenham Travel Group Plc, founded in 1970 by current CEO Peter Reglar, with the opening of the Ickenham Travel retail shop in Ickenham.
Ickenham Travel soon expanded and by 1975 Ickenham Business Travel was launched, establishing ourselves in both the leisure and business travel market. Over the next 20 years Ickenham Travel opened a further seven retail outlets in Hillingdon, Northwood, Harrow, Rickmansworth, Ruislip and two shops in Uxbridge.
In 1995 Ickenham Business Travel moved to our headquarters in Uxbridge, having outgrown the office in Ickenham. In 2005 we re-branded to Business Travel Direct and concentrated on developing our company infrastructure, introducing our very own industry-leading online booking tools for ourclients, and becoming a UK market leader as a business travel management company (TMC).
To move with customer demand, in 2005 Ickenham Travel also sold our retail shops and launched
the letsgo2 tour operating division, offering tailored online holidays at extremely competitive prices.
In 2008 Business Travel Direct committed to providing the highest possible quality of services to all
our clients through meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 and an Environmental Policy that
meets the requirements of ISO14001. We were also proud to join the Investors In People initiative
scheme that year.
Meeting quality assurance requirements and excelling in our service and expertise, Business Travel
Direct picked up awards for Best Travel Management Company in both 2009 and 2010 at the UK's
main business travel industry awards.
In 2009 a multi-lingual Euro Desk was set up to provide the necessary support to our global client
base, alongside our capabilities in the USA and Australia.
Currently Business Travel Direct serves nearly 300 clients globally. We could not have achieved this without our award-winning staff who have an average 15 years' experience, and work from our three locations across the South East of England.
In 2010 the Ickenham Travel Group Plc was proud to celebrate our 40 year anniversary.
