Detla Airlines have entered a new era of self-check in with the unveiling of the first biometric terminal in the US, located in the world’s busiest airport at the international terminal of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta in Georgia. Delta first announced the project in September, stating that travellers flying direct to an international destination on Delta or its partners Aeromexico, Air France, KLM or Virgin Atlantic would have the option to biometric check-in at the self service desks and this data could be used to further verify their identities at security and boarding the aircraft.

Delta’s main aim with this launch is to remove the need for travellers for present their passport multiple times per departure, giving the customer one less thing to worry about and empowering Delta employees with more time to spend on the customer experience.
