September Monthly News
September 2015 – what’s new this month for Business Travel Direct?
September was a busy month for the team here at Business Travel Direct, with new consultants and account managers joining our Uxbridge office, a client day out on the Eurostar to Brussels, and a fantastic opportunity to be the only Platinum Sponsor for Concur’s Fusion Exchange event in London.
We’d firstly like to welcome our new recruits to the Business Travel Direct family. Our Client Services department has grown this month, with Keeley Lewsey joining us a Junior Rail Consultant, and Harriet Bird as Travel Consultant. We also have great pleasure in welcoming Neil Greatorex to our Client Services team under the role of Productivity and Automation Manager. This month we also welcomed Mark Wheeler to the Client Partnership team as one of our Account Managers. Mark will be managing a portfolio of clients and lending his expertise and experience wherever possible.
We know that all of our new starters share our vision and company culture, and we wish them every success here.
Earlier this month, our Client Partnership Manager for Marine Travel Direct had the great pleasure of taking a small group of clients to Brussels for the day. It’s always a great experience for us to get to know our clients a little better outside of the traditional corporate arena, and sight-seeing and delicious food was certainly a way to do that!
Last week, Business Travel Direct were the only platinum sponsor at Concur’s Fusion Exchange. It was truly a fantastic opportunity to be fully aligned with Concur and meet over 200 delegates from a range of industries. One of our Solutions Consultants, Ian, was even honoured to host a panel focusing on the topic of open and mobile booking. Thank you to anyone who took the time to visit our stand and a big thank you to Concur, for hosting such a great event.
Over the course of the year, the teams have been raising money to send 10 students from Dormers Wells High School on a week-long expedition with The Outward Bound Trust. We’ve chosen to support this particular charity as Dormers Wells is within our local area and it’s a fantastic opportunity to support the students in experiencing new, exciting challenges and increase their confidence. Business Travel Direct have been doing a number of fundraising events, from office breakfasts and bake sales, to an office summer fete, complete with games and home made cakes – all to ensure we reach our target. In just 10 days, five of our very brave members of the team will be running the Oxford Half Marathon on behalf of The Outward Bound Trust, and we hope that you’ll join us in wishing them the very best of luck on the day. Vanessa, Monika, Charlotte, Tracy, and Vikki have been training for the last 3 months in preparation of the 13.1 mile run, and some of the team here will be heading up to Oxford on the 11th October to cheer them on at the finishing line. If you’d like to sponsor our team ‘The Bizzy Runners’, you can do so here www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/BizzyRunners. We’d really appreciate any support you could give us and I’m sure it’ll spur our brave runners on to know that they’ve raised lots of money for such a fantastic cause.
