FOCUS ON… VIRGIN ATLANTIC
Welcome to the world of Virgin Atlantic, voted Europe’s Best Long Haul Airline in 2017 by airlineratings.com.
Speed through security with TSA Pre✓®
Virgin Atlantic are proud to be the first UK airline to join the TSA pre✓® programme. Once customers have enrolled in TSA pre✓®, they can skip the long security lines and enjoy a faster, easier security screening process when departing from participating US airports.
TSA pre✓® is a US pre-screening initiative that makes risk assessments on customers prior to their arrival at security and the TSA Checkpoint, helping to improve their airport experience, while making their travels even more seamless.
Currently, TSA pre✓® is available at many airports across the US, including most of the airports that Virgin fly in and out of. TSA pre✓® is available on direct flights from the US to the UK only.
Virgin Atlantic gets a new home at Gatwick
On 25th January, Virgin Atlantic moved to a new home at Gatwick Airport. It switched its operations from the South to North Terminal as part of the wider changes happening at the airport.
The move means your customer’s experience will be better than ever. There’s a brand new clubhouse so Upper Class customers, Flying Club Gold members and Delta One™ passengers can still get their journey off to a stylish start. To keep things seamless, Upper Class drop off is right outside check in. The new check in area is lighter, brighter and spacious. Plus, extra kiosks mean there are more check in options.
Virgin Atlantic wins ‘Best European Long Haul Airline’
Virgin Atlantic has been awarded the title of ‘Best European Long Haul Airline’ and named as one of the ‘Top Ten airlines to fly with in 2017’ by airlineratings.com. The airline’s seven “star safety rating” and “innovation in passenger comfort” helped secure the awards.
Geoffrey Thomas, Editor in Chief of Airline Ratings, describes the airline as having “a rich history in pioneering long haul travel and new aircraft designs.” In 2017, Virgin launches new routes from Heathrow to Seattle, Gatwick to Varadero, Manchester to San Francisco and Manchester to Boston.
The Virgin Atlantic Heathrow Clubhouse is having a facelift
It’s been ten years since the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse at Heathrow first opened. So, to keep it looking its best and make it an even more special place to be, it’s having a bit of work done.
Once the updates are complete, customers will be able to enjoy eating in a bigger Brasserie, unwinding in a new, secluded cinema area and having a better choice of places to work or relax.
The work will be taking place until March 2017, Upper Class customers, Flying Gold Club members or Delta One™ passengers will be welcome to spend time in the Clubhouse, however, some areas will be closed while the work takes place.
Virgin Atlantic increases US West Coast Transatlantic Travel
Virgin Atlantic, in partnership with Delta Air Lines®, is making changes to its Summer 2017 schedule, offering a third daily London Heathrow (LHR) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) service. The move reflects the company’s strong ambitions to listen to customers and provide the best service and experience possible across the Atlantic.
Beginning May 2017, Virgin Atlantic will fly three times a day between London Heathrow and Los Angeles, creating greater choice of flights for customers during the peak summer travel season.
Virgin Atlantic celebrates 20 years of flying to South Africa
To celebrate 20 years of flying to South Africa, Virgin Atlantic organised a very special party in the sky. The airline’s founder, Richard Branson, arrived at Johannesburg Airport in a Union Jack branded MINI to greet people as they boarded their flight to London Heathrow. And what better aircraft to host the party than ‘Birthday Girl’, the first Virgin Atlantic 787 ‘Dreamliner’? After take-off, Richard set to work serving drinks and getting everyone to play pass the parcel and other classic birthday games.
